Job Summary
The Engineering Technician will assist the engineering team in hands‑on tasks related to installation, maintenance, testing, and support of equipment or systems. The role bridges theoretical engineering work and practical application, helping ensure reliability, safety, and quality in technical operations.
Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment or systems to ensure reliability.

Assist in installation, setup, calibration, and commissioning of technical or production equipment.

Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications and follow them in execution of tasks.

Carry out tests, measurements and diagnostics; collect data, analyze results, and report deviations or faults.

Support troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, or electronic problems; collaborate with engineers to rectify issues.

Maintain and use tools, instruments, test equipment; ensure proper calibration and care.

Keep technical documentation, records of maintenance, incident reports, and logs up to date.

Follow safety, health, and environmental protocols in all work.

Assist in process improvements, identifying inefficiencies, and suggesting enhancements.

Collaborate with production, quality assurance, supply chain, and other support departments as needed.
Qualifications & Skills

Technical / vocational qualification: Engineering Technician level; Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Industrial, Mechatronics or similar.

Some prior experience (1‑3 years or more) in workshop / industrial / technical maintenance environment is preferred.

Good understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems, electronics, instrumentation depending on the specific role.

Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and interpret specifications.

Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills.

Familiarity with tools, measurement devices, test instrumentation.

Attention to detail, reliability, and good organizational skills.

Good communication: able to work in a team, follow instructions, report issues clearly.

Language: Proficiency in Spanish; knowledge of English is an asset.
Working Conditions

Primarily based in workshop / manufacturing facility / plant; may include site visits.

Use of protective / safety equipment is required.

Typical working hours around 38‑40 hours/week, may require overtime depending on deadlines or maintenance needs.

Possible shifts if the plant operates in multiple shifts.

Physical demands: standing, climbing, lifting moderate loads, exposure to noise, industrial environment.
