Job Summary

As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and comfortable environment in assigned properties. Your role ensures high standards of hygiene, organization, and guest/homeowner satisfaction, whether in a private home, villa, or serviced residence.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all areas of the premises: bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, dining areas, halls, etc.

• Dusting, polishing, vacuuming, mopping floors and carpets.

• Change bed linens, wash, dry, fold laundry, and manage wardrobe care.

• Clean windows, mirrors, fixtures, and surfaces.

• Empty trash, recycle where applicable.

• Restock toiletries, cleaning supplies, and household consumables.

• Handle special cleaning tasks when required (deep cleans, seasonal tasks).

• Maintain cleaning equipment properly and safely.

• Report maintenance issues (leaks, damage, appliance malfunctions) to the supervisor/manager.

• Observe and follow health, safety, and sanitation standards.

• Be responsive to homeowner / guest requests in a courteous and professional manner.

• When live‑in: may include responsibilities such as grocery shopping, meal prep/assisting, pet care, and managing junior staff or external contractors.

Qualifications & Skills

• Prior housekeeping experience (in private homes, hotels, or luxury residences) is preferred. Some roles may accept candidates with less experience but strong potential.

• Excellent attention to detail; ability to notice things that others might miss.

• Physical stamina: capable of standing, bending, lifting, working for prolonged periods.

• Discretion, reliability, trustworthiness—especially in private residences.

• Good communication skills. Fluency or working knowledge in English plus one of the Swiss official languages (German, French, or Italian) is often highly valued.
